Top ranked Tennessee was absolutely steamrolled by 8th ranked Florida on Tuesday night as the Gators handed the Vols their first lost of the season in brutal fashion with a 73-43 victory last night.

Alijah Martin scored 18 points, Denzel Aberdeen dropped 16, and Alex Condon posted 12 points to go along with 12 rebounds as Florida knocked off the last unbeaten team in men’s Division I basketball.

“Tonight, we played with great physical and mental toughness,” Florida coach Todd Golden said (h/t ESPN). “All eight guys that played answered the bell, and we obviously guarded incredibly well tonight. … It’s a great result for us.”

“This could be good for us,” Tennessee coach Rick Barnes said after the loss. “We’ll learn from it.”

“Give them credit,” Barnes said of the Gators. “I’m sure they’re looking at it and feel like they probably had their game plan down to the T, how they wanted to do it. We can’t say that on our part.”
