UConn star freshman Liam McNeeley will be out “weeks” due to a high-ankle sprain that he suffered during the Huskies 81-68 victory over DePaul last Wednesday, according to an announcement from head coach Dan Hurley over the weekend.
McNeeley was hurt during the second half when he took a nasty fall while chasing a loose ball and colliding with DePaul guard Layden Blocker. It would result in McNeeley heading to the locker room.
McNeeley would return during the final minutes of the game, but would be on the bench in a walking boot.
McNeeley is averaging 13.6 points and 5.8 rebounds this season for the Huskies and is shooting close to 38% from three.
