The Miami Dolphins are reportedly expected to cut veteran All-Pro wide receiver and eight-time Pro Bowler Tyreek Hill before the new league year begins in March, according to CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones.
Hill underwent surgery for a catastrophic injury (a dislocation and multiple ligament tears) earlier this week and is out for the season after suffering the season ending knee injury during Monday night’s game against the New York Jets.
Hill will enter the final year of his current deal in 2026 and has a bloated $51.9 million cap hit and a non-guaranteed base salary of $29.9 million for next season. Hill’s salary ($11 million) and a $5 million roster bonus will become guaranteed if he’s still on the Dolphins’ roster on the third day of the league year.
Hill could still return to Miami, whom he said he wants to continue to play for, on a team friendly deal following his release.
