For the Arizona Cardinals, the addition of quarterback Carson Palmer and head coach Bruce Ariens came to the Cardinals, Arizona Cardinals have been the team to beat. In 2 of the past five seasons, the Cardinals have made the postseason. Even close to making another Super Bowl. Also, in 3 of the past 5 seasons, they had a winning record.

Last season, in the 2016 NFL season, the Arizona Cardinals finished the regular season with a 7-8-1 record. In the NFC NFC West, they ranked second out of four teams. The Seattle Seahawks finished in first place. On Scoring, the Cardinals were ranked sixth out of 32 teams with a total of 418 points. As for their opponents, a total of 362 points put on the board which ranked 14th out of 32 teams.

For veteran quarterback Carson Palmer, it was a historic year for Palmer. In 15 out of 16 starts last season, he had some impressive numbers. He finished with a 6-8-1 record, completed 61 percent of his passes, threw for 4233 yards, had 26 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions. Carson’s stats made him the leading passer for the 2016 season. Coming into the 2017 Carson Palmer wants to improve his stats from last year as he leads his team to the promise land.

We all know that Lary Fitsgelold is one of the top wide-receivers in the National Football League. Last year, it showed not only in his gameplay but his stats. In 2016, Lary Fitzgerald led the receivers in the passing category. Lary went accumulated 107 receptions, totaled 1,023 yards, and 6 touchdowns.

Second year running back David Johnson led all running backs with 293 rushing attempts, 1239 total yards, and 24. Those numbers took him to the Pro Bowl along with Wide Receiver Lary Fitsgelorld.

Even though 2016 was a successful year as far as stats go, 2017 is going to be a difficult, but competitive season. Along with their divisional games, Arizona will have to contend with five playoff teams from a year ago and two games on national television. Looking at their 2017 regular season schedule, I feel like the Cardinals will go 13-3. How they get there will be tough. First, they will split the season series against the Seattle Seahawks and the 12th man. Then, against the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams they win both games putting their record so far at 5-1. Next, games against the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans will be a loss. Now they are 5-3. But don’t be scared Cardinals fans. The next eight games will be wins. Arizona will end 2017 on a high note at 13-3 (3-3 in the NFC West).

The 2017 regular season starts on Sunday, September 10, 2017, in Detroit, Michigan against the Detroit Lions. Between these two teams, the Detroit Lions leads the series all-time 53-28-5. But, in the last seven meetings, the Arizona Cardinals won all seven games.
