NFL Announces 2017 London Games

The National Football League has announced the schedule for the 2017 regular season pertaining to the London games and which teams will be squaring off against one another across the pond next season.

The London schedule features consecutive games in Weeks 3 and 4 of the regular season taking place at Wembley Stadium, the home of English soccer/futbol, while games in Weeks 7 and 8 will be taking place at Twickenham Stadium which is home to English rugby.

By the end of the 2017 NFL season 26 teams will have played in London since the inception of the London Games Series back in 2007.

The inception of the London Games has been wildly successful for the NFL which has seen marked increases in ratings and popularity since venturing overseas. Sunday viewership of NFL games has more than doubled and the Super Bowl numbers have increased more than 75%, per this NFL.com article. The league is on pace to reach a record number of unique TV viewers in the United Kingdom, demonstrating the success of the NFL’s global branding expansion.
