Chiefs Andy Reid Getting Creative With Travis Kelce

2 Min Read

The National Football League is always evolving and teams are always trying new things on the offensive and defensive side of the ball to gain that edge and to utilize their skilled playmakers.

Out in Kansas City, the Chiefs are using tight end Travis Kelce in new ways, trying to maximize the skills of their best offensive player.

Chiefs’ head coach Andy Reid has been raving about Travis Kelce and is utilizing him in even more ways in an effort to make Kelce that much more dangerous.

“I think every year you will see him probably get a little bit more here and there,” Reid said, via the Chiefs website.

Reid admitted that Kelce, who put up 85 catches for 1,125 yards and four touchdowns last season, is more of a wide receiver and is plenty confident that the offensive juggernaut can bring even more to the table in 2017.

“Different things, like you said, he plays a lot, so it will not be play time necessarily, but just variations of the passing game. He can basically do everything a wide receiver can do. He gives you some flexibility there.”

As far as Kelce’s health is concerned he seems to be feeling fine following offseason labrum surgery.

“We’re rolling, man,” Kelce said. “It feels great. I haven’t had any problems with it first two days of camp. I had a few dropped balls that I got to clean up, but other than that we’re working like I said.”
