Bills Sean McDermott Denies LeSean McCoy Trade Scenario

2 Min Read

With so much change occurring with the Buffalo Bills over the past few months it’s hard to rule out anything else moving forward.

But apparently running back LeSean McCoy won’t be a part of any of the change.

Bills head coach Sean McDermott swatted away the thought that the Bills may make the All-Pro running back available in trade, according to Matthew Fairburn of Syracuse.com.

This goes against multiple trade rumors that have surfaced recently.

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, “the Bills haven’t entertained traded offers for McCoy, the Bills currently aren’t entertaining offers for McCoy and the Bills won’t be entertaining trade offers for McCoy.”

With the departure of Sammy Watkins, Ronald Darby and the retirement of Anquan Boldin, it’s hard to completely rule out the possibility of another trade.

The Bills aren’t expected to compete for a playoff spot and look much closer to a complete rebuild than a playoff contending team.

Which makes sense that Buffalo would shop McCoy, 29, who was named to four consecutive Pro Bowls.

A team like the Kansas City Chiefs immediately comes to mind as a possible suitor for McCoy and the Bills could benefit more by trading McCoy away for draft picks.

For now, McDermott is saying that there is no traction on any McCoy trade rumor currently making the rounds.
