Knicks, Rockets Talking Carmelo Anthony Trade

2 Min Read

We may finally see a resolution in regards to the future of New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony who has long been rumored to be on the move.

After trade rumors intensified earlier this offseason with Anthony being linked to the Houston Rockets and Cleveland Cavaliers, things have been silent over the past month.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski trade talks between the Rockets and the Knicks centered on Anthony have started to heat up again.

Houston is looking to put Anthony, 33, on their team with the likes of James Harden and new addition Chris Paul who was acquired via trade from the Los Angles Clippers earlier this summer.

Anthony has a no-trade clause but he initially stated that he would be open to a move to either the Cavs or Rockets.

In recent weeks Anthony has stated that his preference is to play with the Rockets. Anthony ha stated that he only plans to waive his no-trade clause for the Rockets and will not expand his list of teams that he would be willing to play for.

The Portland Trailblazers have also made their interest in Anthony known.

The Knicks paused trade talks involving Anthony shortly after the hiring of new general manager Scott Perry in July.

The Knicks are aiming to build a young roster to build around Kristaps Porzingis.
