Pacers’ Myles Turner Expects Team To Make Playoffs Next Season

1 Min Read

No Paul George? No problem.

The Indiana Pacers may have fallen out of favor in regards to any NBA playoff predictions for next season after parting ways with George this offseason.

But despite the loss of one of the NBA’s elite players, Pacers’ center Myles Turner is confident that Indiana can reach the Eastern Conference playoffs in the 2017-2018 season.

In fact, he expects them to.

“I feel like we’re definitely going to be overlooked this year,” Turner said, via The Indy Star’s Matthew VanTryon.

“A lot of people look at us as young team that’s going to rebuild, but we’re a young team that’s trying to compete. We’ve got a lot of guys who can come in and make an impact right away. I expect to make the playoffs this year.”

Turner, 21, is now the Pacers’ franchise cornerstone and while he has some loft teams goals set for next season, he also revealed some of his personal goals as well.

“I want to start establishing myself as a leader in this league and on this team” Turner said.

“I know I’m quite young compared to a lot of guys on this team, but the best time is to start young.”
