The Heat Sign Josh Richardson To An Extension

1 Min Read

The Miami Heat have signed guard Josh Richardson to a 4-year, $42 million extension according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

During his two seasons in the league Richardson has shown an ability to score at an NBA level, averaging 10.2 points per game a season ago. He needs to improve his three-point shooting to really take his offensive game to the next level, but he does a good job of using his 6 foot 6 frame to be able to score over smaller defenders.

During his college career at Tennessee he improved pretty drastically each season and his improvement from season one to season two in the league has the Heat excited and being able to keep a double-digit a game scorer for less than $11 million is great value in today’s NBA. Keeping him in the fold to go with Goran Dragic and Hassan Whiteside and with the way the team finished the season a year ago, even though they didn’t make the playoffs, should have fans in South Beach really excited going into this year.
