Game Recap: Los Angeles Chargers at Dallas Cowboys

Welcome to another meeting between the Chargers and Cowboys. For the first time since 2013, these two teams will meet at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. During the last meeting, the Chargers defeated the Dallas Cowboys 30-21.

During that game, former Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was under center for Dallas. As the starter, he went 21-31, 246-yards, and 2 touchdowns. On the other sidelines, Philip Rivers was in control with the Chargers. In Rivers’ victory, he went 35, 41, 401-yards, 3 touchdowns, and threw an interception.

Entering the Thanksgiving clash against the Los Angles Chargers, it is a must-win game to keep their playoffs hope alive. When the game started, the Cowboys first five drives of the game went 3 & out. Dak Prescott did throw two interceptions in the game and one went back for a pick-6. In the second quarter, offensive lineman Zach Martain left the game due to a head injury. Prescott finished the game by completing 20 passes out of 25 attempts, threw for 179 yards, and threw two interceptions.

Although there wasn’t much of a running game, running back Rod Smith was the leading rusher with 9 rushing attempts and a touchdown.

Terrance Williams of the Dallas Cowboys was the leading receiver with 4 receptions for 54 yards.

The next game for the Dallas Cowboys is next Thursday when Washington travels to Dallas for Thursday Night Football. You can see that game on NBC, NFL Network, and streaming live on Amazon Prime.

As for the LA Chargers, they have been steadily winning after going 0-4 the first quarter of the season. Their hot hand at quarterback Philip Rivers was playing at his best setting multiple thanksgiving records for quarterbacks in his 30’s. Rivers completed the game with some incredible stats. Rivers completed 27 passes out of 33, passed for 424 yards, and 3 touchdowns.

Running back Melvin Gordon had a great night in the rushing department as he had 21 rushing attempts for 65 yards.

Wide Receiver Keenan Allen led the receivers group with 11 receptions for 172 yards and a touchdown.
