Giants Lose to Redskins in Close Game

On Thanksgiving night in our nation’s capital, the New York Giants battled the Washington Redskins in Washington, DC. These two teams meet for an NFC East Showdown. For Eli Manning and Kirk Cousins, this is a make or break game to keep their jobs for the near future.

Entering this epic showdown, New York was in last place in the NFC East. But, that doesn’t mean they have something to prove especially for quarterback Eli Manning. Minus final drive of the first half, the Giants had 5 drives that resulted in a punt and a field goal for three points.

In the second half, it looked like the Giants were improving. They did half four drives that resulted in punts, a field goal, and a Giants defender intercepting a pass from Kirk Cousins. However, it wasn’t enough for Big Blue to take home a victory. Here are the leading passer, rusher, and receiver for this game.

Passing: Eli Manning (QB): 13/27, 113-yards, INT

Rushing: Wayne Gallman (RB) 9 Rush, 13-yards

Receiving: Tavarres King (WR): 2 Rec., 36-yards

Next Sunday, the Giants will be taking on Derrick Carr and the Oakland Raiders.

On the other side of the field, you have the competitive Washington Redskins. Entering this contest against divisional rivals the New York Giants, the team had four drives that went 4 & out., one field goal, and one drive that resulted in a turnover on downs.

In the second half, the team seemed like they were have improved when they scored a touchdown, making two touchdowns, and made a field goal. The only hiccup that the Redskins happened late in the third quarter. During a 5 play drive, Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins had his pass intercepted and the Giants ran it in for a touchdown tieing the score at 10 apiece. To steal the victory away from the Redskins. Eli Manning passed the ball and the Redskins intercepted it and ended the game. Here are your passing, rushing, and receiving yards.

The final Score was Washington Redskins 20, 10 New York Giants. For these two clubs, it doesn’t do much in the NFC East. The Giants are 2-9 and the Washington Redskins travel to Arlington, Texas to take on the Dallas Cowboys. That game can be seen at 7:30 central time on NBC, NFL Network, and Amazon Prime.
