Veteran wide receiver Victor Cruz, who rose to superstar status during his time with the New York Giants, has officially announced his retirement from the NFL, according to ESPN.
Additionally, Cruz announced that he will be joining ESPN as an analyst, a job that he will officially start on Wednesday.
“As I officially close one chapter of my life and begin another, I could not be more thrilled to join another championship team at ESPN,” Cruz said in a statement. “I’m excited to get started and share my insight and analysis with the viewers and fans of the NFL.”
After Cruz was released by the Giants he signed with the Chicago Bears, but was released by the team last September and didn’t play last season.
