San Francisco 49ers Stuns Oakland Raiders

It’s week 9 in the NFL and the Oakland Raiders and San Francisco 49ers kick things off on Thursday Night Football.

For Oakland, this season has been crazy. They have traded away two good players in Kalil Mac and Amari Cooper and they have lost three straight games. But, for Derek Carr, the goal remains the same…to lead the Oakland Raiders to victory.

As for the home team San Francisco 49ers, they are going with their third-string quarterback. Nick Mullens, an undrafted free agent from Southern Mississippi back in 2017 became the starting quarterback tonight due to an injury by the second string quarterback.

When the game started, the Oakland Raiders started the game with a 3-0 lead. Then Nick Mullens and the 49ers started their first drive and never looked back. The San Francisco 49ers defeated the Oakland Raiders 31-3.

In his first game in the National Football League, Mullens completed 16 of his 22 passes, 262 yards, and 3 touchdowns. He did not throw a single interception.

On the other side of the field, Derek Carr didn’t have a great night. He was 16/21, 171 yards, and he was sacked 7 times. In the second half, backup quarterback AJ McCarron came in and went 1-8 for 8 yards. He too was sacked by the 49ers defense.

The San Francisco 49ers next game is at home against the New York Giants. You can see that game on Monday, November 12 at 8:15 Eastern, 7:15 Central on ESPN.

For the Oakland Raiders, they will host the Los Angeles Chargers on November 11 at 3:00 PM Eastern on CBS.
