Oakland Raiders Hire NFL Network Draft Analyst
One day after finishing the 2018 NFL regular season, the Oakland Raiders have hired a new General Manager. According to multiple sources, the Raiders have hired NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock.
Mayock’s NFL journey began in 1981. He was drafted in the 10th round by the Pittsburgh Steelers. In 1982-83, he also played for the New York Giants.
After playing in the NFL for three seasons, he decided to retire and use his communications degree he earned at Boston College to cover the league he played for.
Before working at the NFL Network as a draft annalist, he worked for ABC, CBS, FOX, and ESPN.
ESPN: 1993-1995 – Covering football in Canada
CBS Sports: 1996-1999 – Covering NFL Football
CBS Sports: 1997-1999 – Covering NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament
Fox Sports Net: 2000
In November of 2003, the NFL Network launched and Mayock joined the network that year covering college football, NFL scouting combine, and the NFL Draft. When Mike Mayock is not working for the NFL Network, he is calling games for the Philadelphia Eagles and the Minnesota Vikings.
Now, John Gruden and the Raiders have hired Mike Mayock as their next General Manager.
