Now that National Signing Day and his recruiting process are over Tavion Grant is looking forward to making an impact with the Morehead State Eagles.
He chose the Eagles over East Central University, Midwestern State University, East Texas Baptist University, Southern Nazarene University and more. As a Killeen Kangaroo senior defensive back, he finished his final season with 53 tackles (36 solo), five pass breakups and three interceptions.

After getting a Twitter follow from Morehead State football, he sent over his film and they were impressed with what they saw.
“They made me feel comfortable at the visit and the atmosphere was just great especially with the other players,” Grant said about his emotions leading up to the decision.
He said that his recruiting process taught him to always remain humble and patient no matter how long it takes to get recognized. Even though it was not an easy decision to make, he feels it was for the best.
Tavion Grant is joining a Morehead State Eagles program that has suffered losing seasons the last three years but will be looking to turn things around in 2019. Despite their record, the accolades rolled in for their players: eight Eagles received All-Pioneer League Team honors, for the fifth season in a row at least three Morehead State players were named to the Academic All-Pioneer Football League teams and 37 of them made the Pioneer Football League Honor Roll.

On the field, Grant believes he will mesh well with the other defensive backs on the roster. He knows it will take a lot of mental and physical reps to learn under the veterans on the team. He is looking forward to the game speed the college level has to offer.
As a Killeen Kangaroo, Tavion Grant said his best memories are playing around with his teammates on and off the field. As a Morehead State Eagle, he’s looking forward to having fun, showing what he’s made of on the field and he wants to leave with a college degree knowing that he can get an amazing job.
