Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo Suing Over Alleged ‘Rip Off’

1 Min Read

Milwaukee Bucks superstar and 2019 NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo is taking his battle off court and to the courtroom as he takes aim at an alleged ‘Greek Freak’ rip off.

According to TMZ Sports, Antetokounmpo is suing Philadelphia-based artists Jinder Bhogal, who runs a business selling NBA player-inspired clothing on his official website, for selling ‘Greek Freak’ shirts without obtaining his permission.

Bhogal even once offered his clients 10% off anything in the “Greek Freak” collection.

Antetokounmpo says he owns the trademark to use “Greek Freak” for commercial purposes, and court docs indicated that Antetokounmpo sent Bhogal a cease and desist letter, but the artists never responded, which prompted the lawsuit coming forth.

Antetokounmpo is seeking around $2 million in total damages for the copyright infringement.
