Los Angeles Chargers’ running back Melvin Gordon has requested a trade, according to Josina Anderson of ESPN.
Per the report, Gordon’s agent formally asked the Chargers for a trade last week as the two sides remain far apart in contract negotiations.
Additionally, Chargers General Manager Tom Telesco apparently told Gordon’s agent, Damarius Bilbo, that Gordon was still “family”, and refused to grant permission to seek out potential trade partners on his own.
Given how far apart the two sides are in talks, it’s unlikely that the relationship can be repaired without the Chargers meeting Gordon’s financial demands.
