Titans’ Marcus Mariota Discusses Demotion

2 Min Read

Although Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota has been benched for Ryan Tannehill, he is not ready to call it a wrap in Tennessee, despite all indications pointing to an end of his tenure with the Titans.

“Until the day that I die, I’m going to believe I gave it all I got. No matter what, I can learn and grow from this situation. This isn’t going to bring me down. This isn’t going to end my career,” Mariota said, according to ESPN’s Turan Davenport. “I had an opportunity to play but I didn’t make the most of it. I am going to learn and grow from it.”

Mariota seems to be on his way out of Tennessee, as the team is likely going to move on from the former 1st round pick following this season.

Despite there being 10 games left in the season, it appears unlikely that Mariota will get the starting job back from Tannehill.

“You have to be ready at any point in time. No matter what, I will prepare just as I have and I’ll be ready to go,” Mariota said.

The Titans came into the season emphasizing that Mariota is the team’s unquestioned starter, following a fierce battle from Tannehill.

However, Mariota has failed to live up to expectations, and despite being only 25-year old, seems to no longer be in the future plans for the Titans.
