In the event that the Chicago Bulls make superstar Zach LaVine available via trade, teams such as the New York Knicks and the Brooklyn Nets have each done “background work” on the veteran guard, according to SNY’s Ian Begley.

LaVine averaged 25.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.5 steals last season for the Bulls and would be a tremendous boost to a long-suffering and struggling Knicks franchise.

The Knicks new president is Leon Rose, who was a top player agent at CAA and has relationships with a number of players, leading many to speculate the Knicks going after top tier free agents, and explore blockbuster trades, under Rose’s watch.

On the flip side, the Bulls, who have a new team president in Arturas Karsinovas, are hoping they can stabilize their head coaching position, among other things, to keep players such as LaVine from bolting in free agency.

But given their trades of Jimmy Butler, and others, over the past years, a trade centered around LaVine wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility.
