New York Jets star safety Jamal Adams has already requested a trade from the Jets, but he is now publicly taking aim at Jets head coach Adam Gase.

According to New York Daily News’ Manish Mehta, Adams doesn’t believe that Gase has what it takes, or has shown what it takes, to be a leader for the team.

Adams has been active in criticizing the Jets organization this week, including Wednesday when Adams took to Twitter to say — “We need the RIGHT people at the top. Wrong is wrong!” regarding Jets owner Woody Johnson in response to a CNN report alleging that Johnson made racist and sexist remarks while serving overseas in his current role as the U.S. ambassador to the United Kingdom.

While Adams will report to training camp next week, but doesn’t feel like Gase is the right person to be at the helm as head coach of the Jets.

“At the end of the day, he doesn’t address the team,” Adams said. “If there’s a problem in the locker room, he lets another coach address the team. If we’re playing sh—y and we’re losing, he doesn’t address the entire team as a group at halftime. He’ll walk out of the locker room and let another coach handle it.”
