WWE Purchases EVOLVE Wrestling

1 Min Read

Following months of negotiations, WWE has officially completed their purchase of EVOLVE Wrestling, according to PWInsider’s Mike Johnson.

According to the report, WWE “will have the complete rights to use the EVOLVE brand name and produce EVOLVE events going forward, whether as live events or WWE Network programming. There is no word whether we’ll ever see an EVOLVE event again, but certainly there will be EVOLVE/WWN content added to the WWE Network in some form down the line.”

WWE has had a working relationship with EVOLVE, which was founded in 2010, which has served as a feeder system for the WWE.

Names such as Johnny Gargano, Matt Riddle, Ricochet, Austin Theory, Keith Lee, Jon Moxley, Drew Gulak, Brodie Lee, Apollo Crews, and Ricochet, among others, have all spent time with EVOLVE prior to heading to WWE.

The sale will also include the EVOLVE and Dragon Gate USA video library, and it’s expected that some EVOLVE talent will be signed to WWE, heading to the NXT banner.
