Despite a number of reports that hit the news wire last night, Jacksonville Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell says that the team is not close to trading defensive end Yannick Ngakoue, per SiriusXM’s Alex Marvez.

Furthermore, despite initial reports that the compensation may be a second-round draft pick, it appears that Jacksonville may be asking for more than that.

Ngakoue has been pushing for a trade out of Jacksonville, and has even gone as far as to hire a new agent to help get a trade completed.

With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, and with the clock expired on the franchise tag designation, it seems extremely unlikely that a team will pay such a high price for what is pretty much a “rental.”
