New Orleans Saints’ quarterback Drew Brees is getting ready to lead the Saints, a playoff favorite, on another quest to the Super Bowl, and he will have some new weapons on offense to work with.

Brees spoke highly of new wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, who joined the team during free agency, and adds yet another weapon to an already high-powered Saints offense.

“He’s a pro. I think that’s what you recognize with, you know, these veteran receivers,” Brees said, according to the team. “I recognized it with Ted Ginn when he came in three years ago. There’s just a veteran presence, a mature nature and just a way he goes about his work and his business, you know, his preparation, his attention to detail and just a lot of little things begin to pop up and you realize why he’s been able to play at such a high level for so long.”

Sanders wasn’t the only new Saint to impress the future Hall of Fame quarterback, for first round pick Jameis Winston, who joined the team following his stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and will have a chance to prove he can be the successor to Brees once he retires.

“I’ve been impressed with Jameis” Brees said, according to the New Orleans Advocate’s Luke Johnson.

“He loves football, he loves the game, he loves to compete. Great personality, very likable guy, he wants to learn. So, man, all those things are the first components that you kind of see and recognize.”

“Obviously we’re just getting into pads, so we’re just getting into real life situations we’re trying to create in practice. So, the reps have been somewhat limited for all of us up to this point, but as that ramps up, I like our quarterback room.”
