49ers Releasing Mohamed Sanu

The San Francisco 49ers will be releasing veteran wide receiver Mohamed Sanu, according to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.
Sanu provided some depth in the wake of injuries to 49ers wideouts Richie James and Deebo Samuel, and with them both getting healthy, the Niners opted to release Sanu to the free agent market.
Sanu, 31, is coming off a season with the Patriots in which he collected 26 receptions for 2017 yards and a touchdown, which were disappointing numbers considering the potential production Sanu was expected to have with quarterback Tom Brady in the New England offense.
