49ers’ Richard Sherman Could Be Out Until Week 12

San Francisco 49ers veteran defensive back Richard Sherman is not expected to make his return to the field until after the team’s bye week, according to NBC Sports Bay Area’s Jennifer Lee Chan.

49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan announced the update on Sherman on Wednesday, which puts his potential target date for Week 12 when the Niners take on the Los Angeles Rams.

Sherman is in the final year of a  three-year, $27.2 million contract, but the two sides have discussed a contract extension recently.
