Dolphins Deny Shopping Xavien Howard Despite Interest

2 Min Read

The Miami Dolphins have slammed a report that stated that they were entertaining offers for star cornerback Xavien Howard, according to the Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson and Adam Beasley.

While Howard wouldn’t reportedly mind being traded, the Dolphins emphatically denied any interest in moving him, and offered the following response, per the report:

The initial report from the Sun Sentinal’s Omar Kelly, along with a number of others, stated that the Dolphins had received interest from multiple teams and were “exploring trade offers” for Howard, whose 4 interceptions on the season is tied for the league lead.

Per the Miami Herald report — both Jackson and Beasley “were told this morning that a couple teams have inquired about Xavien,” and that “[w]e spoke to the team and chose not to report until a fuller picture and details emerged about the likelihood of him actually being traded.”
