Pacers to Hire Nate Bjorkgren as Head Coach

1 Min Read

The Indiana Pacers are set to hire Toronto Raptors assistant Nate Bjorkgren as their next head coach, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Bjorkgren has been a staple of the staff of Raptors’ head coach Nick Nurse, the reigning NBA Coach of the Year, even working with Nurse during two stops in the G League, including winning a title with Iowa back in 2011.

Bjorkgren, 45, was also part of Nurse’s staff that won the NBA Championship in 2018.

Per the report, Bjorkgren sold the Pacers on his history of innovation, adaptability and winning in his time as an NBA assistant and G League head coach, and he will now take over for Nate McMillan, who was fired following the conclusion of their season.
