At numerous points during the roller coaster season, it appeared that the Chicago Bears were going to move on from head coach Matt Nagy, especially when the team was enduring a horrid six-game losing streak.
However, a three game winning streak has the Bears back in the mix for the playoffs, as they control their destiny in regards to a wildcard playoff berth, and the recent success seems to have secured Nagy’s job for next season.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Bears are expected to retain Nagy for the 2021 season. Sunday’s win over the Jacksonville Jaguars seems to have further cemented his status for next season.
The Bears have seen the improved play of quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, and with Trubisky in the lineup again, the Bears offense is putting up some of their best numbers of the season.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Trubisky’s play of late has a number of NFL executives believing that the Bears must consider re-signing him this offseason.
