Former Ravens Running Back Lorenzo Taliaferro Dead at 28

Former Baltimore Ravens running back Lorenzo Taliaferro died on Wednesday at the age of 28 in his hometown of Williamsburg, according to the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office (h/t ESPN’s Jamison Hensley).

According to WBFF-TV Fox45 in Baltimore, a family member said that Taliaferro died of a heart attack.

Taliaferro was drafted by the Ravens in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft, but ended each of his three seasons on the injured reserve list.

Taliaferro switched to fullback in 2017, but was waived before the start of the regular season. After a one-year layoff, he joined the CFL’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats as a defensive player in 2018, but was cut following the preseason.

Taliaferro rushed for for 339 yards and scored five touchdowns in 19 games for the Ravens during his career.
