The Dallas Cowboys have stumbled through a difficult season, but it won’t cost first-year head coach Mike McCarthy his job this offseason.
Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones emphatically voiced his support for McCarthy to return as the Cowboys head coach next season, despite some chatter that they Cowboys may be better off making a change after only one season under McCarthy.
“Not one time, not one time have I been in any discussion, had any dream, been sitting by myself, have I given a thought to anything but Mike McCarthy being our coach next year, and being our coach in the future,” Jones said on 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday, according to the LA Crosse Tribune’s Clarence Hill Jr..
“How in the hell something like that could get going with a conversation with Stephen or anybody else about whether McCarthy is going to be the coach or not is ridiculous.”
McCarthy did get the offense humming when quarterback Dak Prescott was healthy.
