The New York Jets have placed defensive lineman Quinnen Williams on the injured reserve due to a neck injury, effectively ending his season.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Williams has been officially ruled out for the final two games of the season, which abruptly ends a breakout campaign for the young lineman.

Williams, 21, has emerged as one of the league’s best young defensive lineman, and closes out the 2020 season with 32 solo tackles, 7 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles over 13 games.
