Falcons Offer Tennessee Titans OC Arthur Smith Head Coaching Job

1 Min Read

The Atlanta Falcons have decided that they want Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Arthur Smith to be their next head coach.

According to ESPN’s Dianna Russini, the Falcons have officially made an offer to the 38-year old Smith to become the team’s head coach.

Smith has been the offensive coordinator for the Titans for the past two seasons, and if he takes the Falcons gig he would be taking over for Dan Quinn, who was fired following an 0-5 start to the season. Quinn has since taken the defensive coordinator job with the Dallas Cowboys.

Smith’s offense in Tennessee has been credited for the incredible performances of running back Derrick Henry, who rushed for 2,027 yards this season, and the improved play of quarterback Ryan Tannehill, who has thrived in Tennessee following a mediocre tenure with the Miami Dolphins.
