Denver Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr. tested positive for COVID-19, as announced by Nuggets head coach Mike Malone.
According to the Denver Post’s Mike Singer, Porter’s absence has been due to him contracting the coronavirus. Porter has missed the majority of the Nuggets games in 2021, and will now have his return to the team delayed even further.
Porter showed incredible progress in his development this season, averaging 19.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.0 steal and 1.5 blocks a game, showing a marked improvement from his numbers last season.
The Nuggets, and Porter, will remain in a waiting mode as they continue to monitor Porter’s situation in the hopes he can return to the team in the near future.
