Despite his familiarity with Joe Woods’ defense, veteran cornerback Richard Sherman won’t be pursued by the Cleveland Browns during free agency this offseason, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer’s Mary Kay Cabot.
Sherman, 32, is unlikely to re-sign with the San Francisco 49ers, where he has spent the last few seasons. The Niners may not have the cap room to address their offseason needs, and re-sign Sherman as well.
Sherman has also been linked to the Las Vegas Raiders, who may be interested in bringing in the veteran. Sherman was limited by injury last season and was only able to appear in five games during the 2020 campaign.
Sherman had a solid 2019 season, collecting 61 tackles and 3 interceptions over 15 games, and earning a Pro Bowl nod along the way.
