The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are your Super Bowl Champions. Now that the NFL season is over, the focus will shift to free agency and the 2021 draft. While Trevor Lawrence heading to the Jacksonville Jaguars with the first overall pick can be put in chalk at this point, the rest of the draft remains a mystery. Will players such as Deshaun Watson and Carson Wentz be on the move? Which teams will be willing to pay the steep price to make a move up the draft board to select their quarterback of the future? At this point there are more questions than answers, but make no mistake about it, the NFL offseason promises to be chaotic,
Below, I will take a stab at projecting all seven-rounds of the 2021 NFL Draft, including compensatory picks. Of course, there will be trades, as draft day trades are a staple from draft weekend. Buckle up, this is an insane ride.

Round One
1-Jacksonville Jaguars: Trevor Lawrence, Quarterback [Clemson]
Analysis: This isn’t a prediction; this is a spoiler. It was well known that whatever team held the first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the pick was going to be Trevor Lawrence. As a true freshman, Lawrence led the Clemson Tigers to a National Championship and excited historically elite traits. The Jacksonville Jaguars just drafted their biggest star in franchise history.
2-New York Jets: Zach Wilson, Quarterback [BYU]
Analysis: The Jets didn’t win the “Trevor Lawrence Sweepstakes”, but they did land their quarterback of the future. BYU’s Zach Wilson skyrocketed up draft boards after a stellar 2020 season. Consideration for Ohio State’s Justin Fields makes sense, but Wilson is more NFL-ready.
Projected Trade: The Miami Dolphins trade their 2021 first-round selection (#3 overall) to the Carolina Panthers for their 2021 first-round selection (#8 overall), 2021 second-round selection (#39 overall) and their 2022 first-round selection.
3-Carolina Panthers*: Justin Fields, Quarterback [Ohio State]
Analysis: After making an attempt at Matthew Stafford, the Panthers make a bold move to secure their quarterback of the future. Justin Fields is far from a finished product; however, he oozes tools that will lead him to be a successful pro. Did the Panthers just draft the next Randall Cunningham?
Projected Trade: The Atlanta Falcons trade their 2021 first-round selection (#4 overall) to the Denver Broncos for their 2021 first-round selection (#9 Overall), 2021 second-round selection (#40 overall) and their 2022 first-round selection.
4-Denver Broncos*: Trey Lance, Quarterback [North Dakota State]
Analysis: The run on quarterbacks has been off to a fast and furious start, but this is the price to pay when you’re a team on the outside looking in terms of the supply and demand at the quarterback position. Denver beats teams like the San Francisco 49ers and New England Patriots to the punch and ensure themselves an insanely skillful player. Trey Lance needs development and has experienced limited reps, so it would be wise to sit him behind Drew Lock for a season.
5-Cincinnati Bengals: Penei Sewell, Offensive Tackle [Oregon]
Analysis: The Cincinnati Bengals should be embarrassed by the offensive line they put in front of Joe Burrow inn his rookie season. Ultimately that mistake led to Burrow suffering a season-ending injury. It’s time the Bengals learn from previous failure and build a wall in front of the 2020 first overall pick. Oregon’s Penei Sewell has gold-jacket talent and is ready to protect Burrow’s blindside for the next decade plus.
6-Philadelphia Eagles: Rashawn Slater, Offensive Tackle [Northwestern]
Analysis: The Philadelphia Eagles were so desperate for offensive line help last season that they practically had to beg Jason Peters to come out of retirement. Also, it seems that Washington State’s Andre Dillard is close to entering bust territory for Philadelphia. Many in the draft community rank Rashawn Slater slightly behind Penei Sewell. Slater has the versatility play any of the positions along the offensive line and instantly bolster the Eagles’ offensive line.
7-Detroit Lions: Devonta Smith, Wide Receiver [Alabama]
Analysis: Both of the Lions starting receivers, Marvin Jones and Kenny Golladay, are unrestricted free agents and outside of them, the cupboard is bare in terms of the Lions receiving core. Newly acquired franchise quarterback Jared Goff will certainly need an abundance of arsenal at his disposal if he will be successful in Detroit. Adding a dynamic weapon like the Heisman-Trophy winner from Alabama is a good start to providing weapons for Goff, as Devonta Smith looks like the second coming of Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison.
8-Miami Dolphins*: Jaylen Waddle, Wide Receiver [Alabama]
Analysis: The Miami Dolphins need to completely revamp their atrocious wide receiver core if they want to give Tua Tagovailoa the opportunity to be a high-level NFL quarterback. Last season drops and lack of separation impaired the Miami passing attack. Alabama’s Jaylen Waddle is one of the most electrifying prospects in the 2021 draft class. He has world-class speed and consistently presents the ability to burn defenses.
9-Atlanta Falcons*: Patrick Surtain II, Cornerback [Alabama]
Analysis: Atlanta snags the first defensive player off the board. Pat Surtain II has NFL bloodlines, upper-echelon ball skills and utilizes his length quite well. The Falcons desperately need to improve their woeful defense and adding a shutdown cornerback is a tremendous start.
10-Dallas Cowboys: Caleb Farley, Cornerback [Virginia Tech]
Analysis: The Cowboys 2020 season was a complete disaster. The offense had an excuse, as they lost Dak Prescott to a significant season-ending injury, but the defense completely let America’s Team down. Virginia Tech’s Caleb Farley has an impressive athletic profile and would give Dallas a premier cornerback prospect to pair with last year’s second-round pick Trevon Diggs. With Prescott likely returning under the franchise tag next season, the Cowboys could be a dangerous team if they can get better on the defensive side of the ball.
11-New York Giants: Ja’Marr Chase, Wide Receiver [LSU]
Analysis: LSU’s Ja’Marr Chase sat out of the 2020 season and many have forgotten just how dominant he was during the Tigers National Championship run. Chase instantly becomes the best option in the Giants passing game and gives Daniel Jones a true game-breaker.
Projected Trade: The San Francisco 49ers trade their 2021 first-round selection (#12 overall) to the Jacksonville Jaguars for their 2021 first-round selection (#25 overall) and their 2021 second-round selection (#33 overall).
12-Jacksonville Jaguars*: Kyle Pitts, Tight End [Florida]
Analysis: The Jacksonville Jaguars utilize their copious draft capital to move up to secure Trevor Lawrence an elite pass-catching weapon. Florida’s Kyle Pitts is one of the most dynamic tight end prospects to enter the NFL ranks in quite some time. The combination of Lawrence and Pitts could set the NFL on fire for the next ten years.
13-Los Angeles Chargers: Christian Darrisaw, Offensive Tackle [Virginia Tech]
Analysis: Justin Herbert was nothing short of spectacular in his rookie season. If the Chargers want an encore, they should invest in protecting their franchise quarterback. Right now, Herbert’s blindside is being protected by Sam Tevi, so an upgrade would be a smart move.
14-Minnesota Vikings: Gregory Rousseau, EDGE [Miami]
Analysis: The last time we saw Gregory Rousseau on the football field, his 15.5 sacks finished second in all of college football, only ranking behind Chase Young. Rousseau is raw and needs development, but he has the potential to blossom into a dangerous player. The combination of Rousseau and Danielle Hunter could give the Vikings a scary pass-rushing tandem for years to come.
15-New England Patriots: Micah Parsons, Linebacker [Penn State]
Analysis: On talent alone, Penn State’s Micah Parsons is a top-five prospect in the 2021 NFL Draft. Due to come character concerns, he takes a slight tumble down the draft board, but lucky for him, he falls right into Bill Bellichik’s lap. For my money, Parsons is the best defensive player in this draft class, and it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if he matures into being the best linebacker in the NFL. Parsons and the Patriots are a match made in Heaven.
16-Arizona Cardinals: Jaelen Phillips, EDGE [Miami]
Analysis: Hasson Reddick had a splendid season for the Cardinals, but he is an unrestricted free agent and concerns exist whether he was a one hit wonder. While Arizona will benefit significantly from getting Chandler Jones back from injury, a team can never have too many talented young pass-rushers. Phillips could turn into one of the biggest steals of the draft and injects some young talent on the defensive side of the ball for the Cardinals.
17-Las Vegas Raiders: Kwity Paye, EDGE [Michigan]
Analysis: The Raiders have made it clear that they desire more impact from their pass-rush. They selected Clemson’s Clelin Ferrell with the fourth overall pick in the 2019 draft and he has been a major disappointment. Michigan’s Kwity Paye is an athletic freak and while he doesn’t have eye-popping production, he gives the vibe that his best football is in front of him.
18-Miami Dolphins: Najee Harris, Running Back [Alabama]
Analysis: In the modern-day NFL this is way too early to select a running back, but Najee Harris is a special player. He runs with power, doesn’t fumble and is a reliable pass-catcher out of the backfield. His familiarity with Miami Dolphin quarterback Tua Tagovailoa doesn’t hurt either. Miami entered the draft with the goal of adding firepower and the selections of Jaylen Waddle and Najee Harris accomplish that in a big way.
19-Washington Football Team: Samuel Cosmi, Offensive Tackle [Texas]
Analysis: The Washington Football Team certainly are in the market for a quarterback, but I don’t think they are desperate enough to pull the trigger on Mac Jones here. If worse comes to worst, Washington could enter the 2021 season with Taylor Heinicke at the helm. Washington moves to its next priority, which is establishing a formidable offensive line.
20-Chicago Bears: Rashod Bateman, Wide Receiver [Minnesota]
Analysis: It’s hard to imagine the Bears will be able to retain Allen Robinson, who is scheduled to cash in during free agency. His departure will leave a substantial void in a Chicago receiving core that already is in need of help. Bateman is a sophisticated route-runner and could develop into a suitable replacement for Robinson.
21-Indianapolis Colts: Mac Jones, Quarterback [Alabama]
Analysis: After Philip Rivers retirement and striking out to acquire his replacement in free agency, the Colts are desperate enough to pull the trigger on Alabama’s Mac Jones. Jones was remarkable for the Crimson Tide last season, yet he lacks athleticism and his arm talent is nothing special. With that said, desperate times call for desperate measures.
22-Tennessee Titans: Azeez Ojulari, EDGE [Georgia]
Analysis: Harold Landry is a very good pass-rusher, but outside of him, Tennessee is depleted when it comes to players that can sack the quarterback. Azeez Ojulari busted onto the scene for the Georgia Bulldogs in 2020 and showcased the talent to be a ferocious sack artist. If his burst translates to the next level, the Titans will suddenly have a lethal pass-rush.
23-New York Jets*: Jaycee Horn, Cornerback [South Carolina]
Analysis: Cornerback ranks among the Jets biggest needs and lucky for them, the underrated Jaycee Horn out of South Carolina is still available. Horn might not have impressive interception production, but he can cover and plays a fearless brand of football.
24-Pittsburgh Steelers: Alex Leatherwood, Offensive Tackle [Alabama]
Analysis: Maurkice Pouncey recently retired and Alejando Villanueva is slated to enter free agency, leaving the Pittsburgh offensive line in shambles. With Ben Roethlisberger entering the twilight of his NFL career, it is paramount that the Steelers put a quality offensive line in front of him. Alex Leatherwood, the mauler from Alabama, can line up at left tackle or kick inside to guard. Either way, he presents a major upgrade to the Steelers line.
25-San Francisco 49ers*: Alijah Vera-Tucker, Offensive Tackle [USC]
Analysis: Whether or not the 49ers are able to retain Trent Williams remains to be seen and he isn’t getting younger. Regardless, the 49ers need to search for his eventual replacement and could use some upgrades along the offensive line. USC’s Alijah Vera-Tucker can lineup at left guard in the meantime and play at a high level, and San Francisco has their left tackle of the future.
26-Cleveland Browns: Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, Linebacker [Notre Dame]
Analysis: The Cleveland Browns experienced significant improvement across the board in 2020, securing their first postseason appearance in many years. With that said, the Achilles Heel of the Browns is pedestrian play at the linebacker position. Notre Dame’s Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah is a dynamic defensive weapon, possessing the ability to impact the game in a variety of ways. Also, could Owusu-Koramoah be the Browns spy for division-rival Lamar Jackson?
27-Baltimore Ravens: Joseph Ossai, EDGE [Texas]
Analysis: The three-best pass-rushers on the 2020 Baltimore Ravens (Matt Judon, Yannick Ngakoue and Tyus Bowser) are scheduled to be free agents. The cash-strapped Ravens will likely lose at least one, if not all of these players, so they have to turn their attention to the 2021 draft to find their next great pass-rusher. As history shows, the Ravens have a storied history of talented pass-rushers falling into their laps and this seems to be the case yet again.
28-New Orleans Saints: Kadarius Toney, Wide Receiver [Florida]
Analysis: The New Orleans Saints are in salary cap hell and because of this, they will have to make some tough decisions when it comes to their roster. The team will likely have to release Emmanuel Sanders and deciding Michael Thomas’ long-term future in New Orleans will be another. Whether it be Jameis Winston or Taysom Hill, the Saints quarterback could use a dynamic pass-catcher to energize the New Orleans passing attack.
Projected Trade: The Green Bay Packers sent their 2021 first-round selection (#29 overall) to the Miami Dolphins for their 2021 second-round selection (#36 overall) and their third-round pick (#81 overall).
29-Miami Dolphins*: Zaven Collins, Linebacker [Tulsa]
Analysis: The only thing missing from the Miami Dolphins defense is a game-changer at the linebacker position. Tulsa’s Zaven Collins is versatile and an impactful player. Dolphins head coach Brian Flores will be chomping at the bit to unleash Collins in his defense.
30-Buffalo Bills: Ifeatu Melifonwu, Cornerback [Syracuse]
Analysis: When it comes to size and athleticism, Ifeatu Melifonwu passes the eye-ball test with flying colors. Adding a talent cornerback to pair with Tre’Davious White will give Buffalo one of the leagues most talented cornerback groups and improves their chances of unseating the Kansas City Chiefs as the class of the AFC.
31-Kansas City Chiefs: Wyatt Davis, Offensive Line [Ohio State]
Analysis: The Chiefs offensive line let them down in a big way in their Super Bowl defeat against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While the team will get Eric Fisher and Mitchell Schwartz back from injury next season, the interior of their offensive line needs some remodeling. Wyatt Davis is a plug-and-play, who could develop into one of the best offensive guards in the league.
32-Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Travis Etienne, Running Back, Clemson
Analysis: Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay shocked the world by putting a beatdown on the Chiefs and winning this year’s Super Bowl. With key players such as Chris Godwin, Shaq Barrett and Lavonte David being priority free agents, the club is likely to lose running back Leonard Fournette. Adding the dynamic and explosive Travis Etienne would not only be a replacement for Fournette, it would be an upgrade.
ROUND TWO
33-San Francisco 49ers*: Aaron Robinson, Cornerback [UCF]
Analysis: With Richard Sherman likely to leave the 49ers in free agency, cornerback jumps to the top of the list when it comes to team needs. Robinson is a prospect on the rise and should find playing time immediately
34-New York Jets: Carlos Basham Jr., EDGE [Wake Forest]
Analysis: Carlos Basham Jr. is an athletic marvel and would be a homerun pick for the Jets, as he fills the vacancy New York has at setting the edge.
35-Atlanta Falcons: Jayson Oweh, EDGE [Penn State]
Analysis: The Falcons add another talented player to their woeful defense. While Oweh didn’t have substantial production during his tenure at Penn State, he is explosive and offers high end traits to mold.
36-Green Bay Packers*: Tutu Atwell, Wide Receiver [Louisville]
Analysis: Rather than giving Aaron Rodgers weapons, the Packers drafted his replacement in 2020. Rodgers responded by having one of the best years in his illustrious career, winning the league’s Most Valuable Player award. This year the Packers brass get it right and add the speedster from Louisville. Tutu Atwell has blazing speed and is the perfect complement to Davante Adams.
37-Philadelphia Eagles: Nick Bolton, Linebacker [Missouri]
Analysis: Nick Bolton is a first-round talent and the Eagles should rush to the podium if he is available here. Bolton has tremendous instincts and can lay the lumber. He provides a major boost to the Philadelphia linebacker core.
38-Cincinnati Bengals: Pat Freiermuth, Tight End [Penn State]
Analysis: The Bengals add a legitimate red zone threat for Joe Burrow. Pat Freiermuth, also known as “Baby Gronk”, is a touchdown machine and will provide Burrow the ultimate security blanket.
39-Miami Dolphins*: Creed Humphrey, Offensive Line [Oklahoma]
Analysis: With the pick acquired from the Carolina Panthers on day one, the Miami Dolphins draft the missing ingredient from their offensive line in center Creed Humphrey. Humphrey was the best center in college football for over two years and can be the lynch pin for the improved Miami OLINE.
40-Atlanta Falcons*: Javonte Williams, Running Back [UNC]
Analysis: Todd Gurley’s time as a Falcon has come to an end and it is paramount that Atlanta can find a replacement that will bring some balance to their offense. Javonte Williams checks all of the boxes and should become an instant factor for the high-powered Falcons offense.
41-Detroit Lions: Christian Barmore, Defensive Tackle [Alabama]
Analysis: Someone alert the authorities; a robbery has been committed. If Christian Barmore had a larger sample size, he would be a likely top-15 pick. There is a new era in Detroit under newly minted head coach Dan Campbell. Barmore can be the centerpiece of a revamped Lions defense.
42-New York Giants: Rashad Weaver, EDGE [Pittsburgh]
Analysis: His teammate Patrick Jones II gets more of the attention, but do not sleep on Pittsburgh’s Rashad Weaver. Weaver is uber versatile and fits the mold of what the Giants seek from their defensive ends.
43-San Francisco 49ers: Trevon Moehrig, Safety [TCU]
Analysis: The best safety in the draft falls into John Lynch’s hands and he doesn’t hesitate to turn in this pick. TCU’s Trevor Moehrig can do-it-all and has multiple pro bowls in his future.
44-Dallas Cowboys: Jalen Mayfield, Offensive Tackle [Michigan]
Analysis: The once dominant Cowboys offensive line regressed mightily in 2020. Both starting offensive tackles, Tyron Smith and La’El Collins, have been battling a litany of injuries recently and their best days are likely behind them. It’s time to get younger and cheaper, Mayfield accomplishes both for Dallas.
45-Jacksonville Jaguars: Teven Jenkins, Offensive Tackle [Oklahoma State]
Analysis: After providing Trevor Lawrence a dynamic weapon in Kyle Pitts, the Jacksonville brass shifts the focus into protecting their franchise player. Teven Jenkins is a nasty people-mover and should be able into one of the top right tackles in the NFL.
46-New England Patriots: Rondale Moore, Wide Receiver [Purdue]
Analysis: When Jakobi Meyers is your team’s number-one receiving option, help is needed. There was a time when Purdue’s Rondale Moore was widely considered a top-20 prospect, but injuries and a decision to opt out this season have resulted in his draft stock taking a significant hit. With that said, Moore is an extremely talented player with big play potential. He should ascend to becoming New England’s primary weapon in little time.
47-Los Angeles Chargers: Eric Stokes, Cornerback [Georgia]
Analysis: Eric Stokes was brilliant for the Georgia Bulldogs in 2020 and due to this, he has become one of the most sought-after cornerbacks in the 2021 class. When you play in a division with Patrick Mahomes, one can never have too many talented defensive backs. The Chargers pounce on Stokes, who should start opposite of Casey Hayward on day one.
48-Las Vegas Raiders: Andre Cisco, Safety [Syracuse]
Analysis: Las Vegas Raiders General Manager Mike Mayock fancies defensive backs who possess elite ball skills. At the top of that list in this draft class is Syracuse’s interception machine Andre Cisco. Safety is one of the Raiders biggest need and this pick makes a great deal of sense.
49-Arizona Cardinals: Greg Newsome II, Cornerback [Northwestern]
Analysis: Patrick Peterson and the Cardinals are parting ways, which creates a major hole on the back-half of the Arizona defense. Injuries have plagued Newsome at the collegiate level, but if he can prove to stay healthy, he should be a very good player at the next level.
50-Miami Dolphins: Richie Grant, Safety [UCF]
Analysis: Bobby McCain could surface as a potential cap casualty in Miami and even if he stays on the team, quality defensive backs are a staple of a Brian Flores defense. UCF’s Richie Grant turned heads with his exceptional play at Reese’ Senior Bowl and should carve out a nice niche in Miami.
51-Washington Football Team: Terrace Marshall Jr., Wide Receiver [LSU]
Analysis: The Washington defense was quite the force last season. In fact, I’d argue the defense is playoff ready. On the opposite end of the spectrum is Washington’s pedestrian offense. One way to drastically improve the offense is finding a compliment to the explosive Terry McLaurin.
Projected Trade: The Chicago Bears trade pick #52 to the Philadelphia Eagles for Carson Wentz
52-Philadelphia Eagles*: D’Wayne Eskridge, Wide Receiver [Western Michigan]
Analysis: After turning the page on Carson Wentz and sending him to Chicago for a draft pick, the Eagles add another explosive pass-catcher to the disposal of the franchise’s new signal caller Jalen Hurts.
53-Tennessee Titans: Landon Dickerson, Offensive Line [Alabama]
Analysis: Alabama’s Landon Dickerson is a tough, rugged player that is the perfect fit to the physical Tennessee rushing attack.
54-Indianapolis Colts: Dillon Radunz, Offensive Tackle [North Dakota State]
Analysis: Anthony Castonzo’s sudden retirement makes left tackle a significant need for Indianapolis. During Senior Bowl practices, North Dakota State’s Dillon Radunz proved he could hang with the big boys and cemented his draft stock as a solid day two prospect.
55-Pittsburgh Steelers: Daviyon Nixon, Defensive Tackle [Iowa]
Analysis: For quite some time, the backbone of the Steelers defense has been the defensive line. The departure of Javon Hargrave last offseason was noticeable, as the Steelers defense was not quite the same. Adding a premier talent like Iowa’s Daviyon Nixon to the Pittsburgh defensive front could take the Steelers defense to the next level.
56-Seattle Seahawks: Joe Tryon, EDGE [Washington]
Analysis: The Seattle Seahawks can only go so far if they don’t add some significant pieces to their lackluster defense. Last season, Seattle was never able to adequately replace Jadeveon Clowney in their defensive front. In fact, safety Jamal Adams led the teams with 9.5 sacks. The last time we saw Joe Tryon line up for the Washington Huskies, he accumulated 8.0 sacks in 13 games. Tryon should be able to make an instant impact in Seattle.
57-Los Angeles Rams: Chazz Surratt, Linebacker [UNC]
Analysis: The Rams are going all-in after acquiring quarterback Matthew Stafford in a blockbuster trade. While the addition of Stafford is an improvement, the Rams had to utilize substantial draft capital in order to get the deal done. Due to this, Los Angeles has to make every pick that they do have count. Chazz Surratt is the most athletic linebacker in the draft and presents immense upside.
58-Baltimore Ravens: Trey Smith, Offensive Line [Tennessee]
Analysis: The Baltimore offense line took a giant step backwards in 2020 stemming from the retirement of Marshall Yanda. Now, the situation worsens, as three-time pro bowler Orlando Brown Jr. has requested a trade out of Charm City. The Ravens rely on the running game more than any team in the NFL and must address the offensive line to sustain the success they have had on the ground.
59-Cleveland Browns: Ronnie Perkins, EDGE [Oklahoma]
Analysis: Ronnie Perkins is a significantly underrated draft prospect, as he is one of the better draft eligible edge-setters. Lining Perkins opposite of Myles Garrett should allow the former Oklahoma standout to thrive in Cleveland.
60-New Orleans Saints: Asante Samuel Jr., Cornerback [Florida State]
Analysis: Due to the salary cap mess the Saints find themselves in, whether or not they should be able to keep cornerback Marshon Lattimore will be an interesting development to watch. Even if Lattimore remains a Saint, cornerback is a top priority for the team in the 2021 NFL Draft.
61-Buffalo Bills: Dylan Moses, Linebacker [Alabama]
Analysis: There was a time when Alabama linebacker Dylan Moses was mocked in the top-ten picks of the 2021 NFL Draft. Returning to the Alabama defense in 2020 from a significant knee injury, Moses wasn’t the player he was the season prior. The Bills are poised to lose Matt Milano in free agency, so they gamble on Moses regaining his form, which at its peak led him to be the best linebacker in college football.
62-Green Bay Packers: Levi Onwuzurike, Defensive Line [Washington]
Analysis: Pairing the disruptive Levi Onwuzurike to a defensive front that features Kenny Clark and Za’Darius Smith should strike fear into opposing offenses.
