Twins Sign Andrew Romine To Minor League Deal

1 Min Read

The Minnesota Twins have announced the signing of veteran utilityman Andrew Romine to a minor-league deal and Romine will now join the Twins in Spring Training as a non-roster invitee, according to an official team release.

Romine, 35, spent last season with the Texas Rangers, but has spent the most time with the Detroit Tigers during his ten-year career. Romine only appeared in two big league games for the Rangers during the 2020 season, hitting a double during his four plate appearances.

Romine is a switch-hitter, but offense has never been his strong suit as he provides valuable defensive versatility having spent close to 250 innings at each of the four infield positions with his strongest play coming at shortstop, and 559 innings playing in the outfield, with over 300 spent in center field.
