The Kansas City Royals have selected the contract of veteran right-hander Wade Davis which means Davis will earn $1.25 million in guaranteed salary and up to an additional $1.125 million in incentives.
The Royals had an open spot on their 40-man roster, so no corresponding move was necessary to add Davis to the roster.
Davis rejoins the Royals, along with veteran Greg Holland, who were both major factors in the Royals back-to-back pennants in the 2014 and 2015 season, along with pitcher Kelvin Herrera. The trio were collectively referred to as the Law Firm bullpen.
