The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have done an incredible job this offseason in bringing back all 22 starters from last season’s Super Bowl championship team to run it back in 2021, and now the organization is turning it’s attention to the backups.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Bucs are re-signing backup quarterback Blaine Gabbert, inking him to a one-year contract for $2.5 million. Bucs head coach Bruce Arians and general manager Jason Licht have stated their desire to bring Gabbert back.
Gabbert has spent two seasons in Tampa Bay, and threw for 143 yards and two touchdowns during the 2020 season.
