The Los Angeles Chargers will have a huge boost to their defensive backfield as young star safety Derwin James has been fully cleared to participate in team workouts, according to NFL.com’s Omar Ruiz.
James suffered a torn meniscus during training camp last year and missed the entire 2020 season. The injury was a huge deflater has James was looking to build on his rookie-year All-Pro season, when he started 16 games and collected 05 tackles, 3.5 sacks, three interceptions.
James has been hampered by injuries during his short career, as he was sidelined for 11 games during the 2019 season.
