Kevin Owens Announces He’s Taking A Break From WWE

2 Min Read

Kevin Owens has announced that he will be taking some time off from WWE. After his very physical match with Sami Zayn at Hell in a Cell, Owens issued the following statement on his Twitter account. “I fought like hell. Now, I need a little break. I’ll be back soon. Thank you, guys.”

Owens reignited his feud with longtime rival and conspiracy theorist Sami Zayn. He would go on to defeat Sami at WrestleMania 37 in April, but their feud continued all the way up to Hell in a Cell where Zayn would get the last laugh nailing a beleaguered Kevin Owens with a hellacious Helluva Kick right to face.

There is speculation that Owens may have been dealing with some nagging injuries for quite some time. There is also speculation and that Kevin may have suffered an upper body injury at the hands of Sami Zayn this past Sunday, but it is purely speculation at the moment.

Owens has been involved several physical feuds this past year. None more physical than with Roman Reigns that culminated in loss at the Royal Rumble in a memorable “Last Man Standing Match” in January. KO has put his body through a lot in recent months and he may just be using this time to rest up and heal before WWE hits the road and resumes their touring schedule in July.

Kevin Owens has been a mainstay in WWE since making his main roster debut, while there is no timetable for his return, there’s hope that he will be back in time for SummerSlam in August.
