The Green Bay Packers are hoping that they can work out some sort of resolution with disgruntled quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who likely won’t be participating in the team’s mandatory minicamp on Tuesday.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Packers could fine Rodgers $93,000 per day for missing minicamp, but are considering issuing him an excused absence which would mean that Rodgers would not be fined.

“The situation we face with Aaron Rodgers has divided our fan base,” Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy said recently, according to the team’s official website. “The emails and letters that I’ve received reflect this fact…We remain committed to resolving things with Aaron and want him to be our quarterback in 2021 and beyond. We are working to resolve the situation and realize that the less both sides say publicly, the better.”

Rodgers would miss out on significant money if he continued to boycott the team in hopes of a trade, including his $14.7 million salary and $6.8 million roster bonus for the 2021 season. Rodgers would also have to pay back $23 million in unearned signing bonus payments.
