Buccaneers Working Out Richard Sherman

1 Min Read

Veteran cornerback and current free agent Richard Sherman is on his was to Tampa, Florida on Tuesday to visit and work out for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, whom he had been in talks with for several weeks, according to NFL Network.

Sherman, 33, would need a week or two from the time he signs with a team to be ready to play, according to ESPN’s Ed Werder.

Sherman is dealing with off the field legal issues and has remained on the free agent market all offseason following his departure from the San Francisco 49ers. However, Sherman would provide much needed depth to an injury-riddled Bucs secondary that is currently without Sean Murphy-Bunting.

Sherman, who has always been a solid tackler, would immediately help a Tampa defensive backfield that has struggled in that area this season.
