Alabama’s Evan Neal, Phidarian Mathis Entering NFL Draft

A few short days after the Alabama Crimson Tide lost to the Georgia Bulldogs in the College Football Championship game, they will be without two of their best lineman who are opting to go to the next level.

According to ESPN’s Alex Scarborough, offensive tackle Even Neil and defensive lineman Phidarian Mathis both announced that they will be entering the NFL Draft.

Neal is considered to be a potential Top-5 pick in the draft, while Mathis is projected to be a Top 10 player at his position. Mathis could have played one more year in college by using the free year of eligibility afforded to athletes because of COVID-19 disruptions in 2020.

Neal chose to forgo his senior season to declare for the draft.
