Free agent shortstop Carlos Correa has officially hired agent Scott Boras even as we are on the 48th day of Major League Baseball’s lockout and transactions are currently frozen, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.
Correa, 27, has played his entire career with the Houston Astros and is expected to fetch a hefty, long-term contract on the free agent market. Correa was represented by William Morris Endeavor prior to hiring Boras.
Correa hit .279/.366/.485 in 148 games for the Astros last season, helping them reach the World Series where they would lose to the Atlanta Braves.
