Commanders Trade for Carson Wentz

1 Min Read

The Washington Commanders entered the offseason intent on finding a solution at the starting quarterback position, and on Wednesday they made a move that they hope will pan out for their area of need.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Commanders are trading, what is thought to be, a package of draft picks that include two third-round draft picks to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for quarterback Carson Wentz.

Washington will pay the full $28 million due to Wentz for the 2022 season, which includes a $5 million roster bonus due next week.

The Colts acquired Wentz last offseason from the Philadelphia Eagles for a first and third round draft pick, but Wentz didn’t last one season in Indianapolis, throwing 27 touchdowns verses 7 interceptions.
