Philadelphia 76ers superstar big man Joel Embiid is out indefinitely with an orbital fracture and a mild concussion, according to ESPN’s Tim Bontemps.

Embiid suffered the injury during the Sixers Game 6, and series ending, victory over the Toronto Raptors on Thursday while he was defending Raptors star Pascal Siakm on a drive with under 4 minutes to play in the fourth quarter.

Embiid headed to the bench follow the play, and Siakam was called for an offensive foul.

Embiid finished the game with 33 points and 10 rebounds, and ended the series averaging 26.2 points and 11.3 rebounds per game.

While there is currently no timetable for his return, the reports cites sources that said “the door isn’t closed” yet as it will all depend on the severity of the orbital bone fracture and how the Sixers medical staff directs treatment.
