Jaylen Brown’s Handling of Trade Rumors This Summer

2 Min Read

During the summer one of the biggest NBA storylines was the trade request issued by Brooklyn Nets superstar, and future Hall of Famer, Kevin Durant, who ended up working out his differences to remain with the Nets.

But during all of the chaos, the Boston Celtics were linked to Durant, with a trade package headlined by the Celtics offering Jaylen Brown. While the deal didn’t end up going down, the constant chatter around a potential trade of Brown certainly had an impact.

The Celtics’ newest addition, Malcom Brogdon, doesn’t believe that the constant trade chatter had a negative impact on Brown.

“Like any human being, sometimes you want to be checked on to see how you’re doing, but that’s all I did with him,” Brogdon said, during an interview with the Boston Globe. “Jaylen’s a confident guy and he understands this is part of the business as well. So he’s a pro. He’s going to come back ready for training camp and ready to work.”

Brogdon’s comments follow the recent statement from Celtics team president Brad Stevens who shared the organization’s commitment to Brown, adding that they have been in constant communication with the Celtics swingman.
