The Pittsburgh Steelers may have walked away from their preseason finale against the Detroit Lions with a victory but they lost star wide receiver Diontae Johnson and linebacker T.J. Watt during the game.
According to ESPN’s Brooke Pryor, Johnson exited the game after he was tackled when hauling in a 38-yard pass from quarterback Mitch Trubisky, appearing to land awkwardly on his left shoulder.
Watt, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, injured his left knee while on the receiving end of a cut block from Lions’ tight end T.J. Hockenson during the second quarter of action. Watt remained in the game for a bit but was later pulled.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said that the team had “no long term concern at the moment” for Johnson or Watt. “If this is a regular-season game, we may see them back in this game,” he said during the broadcast.
