Hawks Working to Hire Quin Snyder

1 Min Read

The Atlanta Hawks are working fast to hire former Utah Jazz head coach Quin Snyder to become their new head coach after the team fired Nate McMillan earlier this week, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

Per the report, the Hawks and Snyder have already started formal discussions with the Hawks hopeful to close a deal soon. The two sides had a virtual meeting on Wednesday, as Snyder is currently out of the country, and an in-person interview is expected to take place soon with the hopes that a deal can be worked out quickly.

Snyder was taking the season off from coaching following his departure from the Jazz this past season, where he was at the helm for eight seasons and posted a 372-264 record, making the playoffs in six consecutive seasons.

The Jazz never made it past the second round under Snyder, and decided to move on from stars such as Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert this offseason.
